UWODS, EST. 1878
The UWO Debate Society was established in 1878 at Western University in London, Ontario. In its 145 years as a club, it has taught thousands of students to think critically, engage constructively and speak persuasively.
Our debate society has been involved on both a national and international level. We have reached the outrounds of the World’s University Debating Championship (WUDC) and won various major tournaments across North America. UWODS has taken an incredibly active role on a national level, with members of the club having served as the President or other Executives of the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate (CUSID/SUCDI).
